Poetry from Grasby
Mention the poetry of Tennyson and most folk will think of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, the Poet Laureate. However his brother, Charles Tennyson-Turner, who was Vicar of Grasby from 1835 till his death in 1879, was a prolific writer of Sonnets. Recently, folk from the Grasby area have been studying Charles poetry with the help of Tennyson experts, John and Margaret Compton and have written sonnets of their own which have been published in an anthology and which is available from Joan Barton (01652 628337)and costs £5
