What We Do
North East Lincolnshire Disability Access is for disabled people and their allies to campaign for equal opportunities and to become a focal point to raise awareness of the issues facing disabled people and to help other disabled people in any way we can.
Current Topics at Meetings
Parking - and the abuse of car parking bays for people with disabilities. The lack of respect for dropped kerbs - where people are obstrucing them by bad parking.
Victoria Street pedestrianisation - We are still questioning the alterations in the Victoria Street area, and the parking facilities for Blue Badge holders.
Toilets - The lack of accessible toilets, especially not having a accessible toilet whilst providing toilet facilities for anyone else.
Taxis and Buses - the general lack of economic transport for people with disabilities - particularly in the evenings and at weekends.

Run by disabled people, for disabled people
We can achieve change through:
Disability awareness training and education by disabled people.
Individuals taking responsibility for changing the attitudes of those around them.
Lobbying Parliament.
Working together with statutory agencies.
Self-advocacy.
We can do this by working together as a group. The charity, is run by disabled people, for disabled people.
