THE HISTORY OF THE HUMBER BELLES
The Humber Belles was founded in 1991 under the Directorship of Zena Smith, an established singer with experience in Barbershop Harmony. Zena retired from her position in 1996 and the chorus have had several different Chorus Directors since that time...until.....
STOP PRESS: WE HAVE A NEW MUSICAL DIRECTOR!
We are so very proud to announce that we have a new Musical Director, Chris Smith, who has really improved the quality and quantity of girls on the risers.
Chris was a long-serving member of six-times Gold Medal-winning Great Western Chorus (tenor section leader and chorus member) until moving to Lincolnshire in 1998. He was also tenor in six times BABS finalist quartet the "Quarterjacks", Concert Musical Director of Classic Chord Company (in collaboration with Ken Taylor), Musical Director of Vocal Links ladies vocal harmony group (until 2005) and is a baritone saxophone player with the Keith Baldwin Big Swing Band. Chris was fondly nick-named "our very own Brad Pitt" at his first appearance at chorus on Wednesday 29th November, a title he feels he yet has to live up to! We are really enjoying working with him and hope you will join us in welcoming him aboard as so many ex-members and new members have done so since he joined us.

Following a recent recruitment drive we have now grown to a membership of over 40!!

THE HUMBER BELLES AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The Club is a member of the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS).
To encourage Ladies to participate together in friendship and harmony in the education and development of Barbershop Harmony Singing as outlined by LABBS.
